Regulation for the “Rising Business Scholar Award”

Article 1 (Name)
The name of this award shall be the ‘Rising Business Scholar Award'.

Article 2 (Purpose) The Rising Business Scholar Award of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration is awarded to rising business scholars who have made a great contribution to business research in order to encourage business scholars' research and to lead continuous development of Korean business administration.

Article 3 (Candidate)
The candidates shall be business scholars under the age of 45 as of the time of examination.

Article 4 (Winner Selection Committee of the Rising Business Scholar Award)
1. The Korean Academic Society of Business Administration shall form the committee for the selection of Rising Business Scholar Award winners (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) to prepare and operate the standards and procedures necessary for the selection and award of the Rising Business Scholar Award.
2. The committee consists of the president of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration, former president, president-elect, 4 commissioners elected at the board meeting, 1 executive director, Editor of Business Administration Research and Editor of KBR.
3. In principle, a person recommended as a candidate for the award shall not be able to concurrently serve as a selection commissioner.

Article 5 (Nomination of Candidates)
1. The winner selection committee for the Rising Business Scholar Award of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration, the business administration-related societies, and more than five members can recommend candidates for the award among the members of this society.
2. Members who are nominated as candidates for the next year in the committee selected in the previous year can also be candidates according to their will.
3. Candidates shall prepare documents in accordance with the selection criteria under Article 6 of the Rule and submit them to the Committee.

Article 6 (Selection Criteria and Procedure)
1. The winner is selected by evaluating the degree of excellence of the candidate's total academic research results in business administration.
2. The selection committee evaluates candidates based on the following selection criteria listed in the order of importance and selects winners.
① Consider whether the paper has been published in Business Administration Research or KBR.
② Consider the number of papers published in 24 journals on the UT Dallas list, 45 journals selected by the FT, or in the best-quality journals in the adjoining social sciences, including economics and psychology.
③ Also consider the impact factor of the journal in which the paper is published.
④ Consider the influence of papers and books published, such as frequency of citations, on academia.
⑤ If other conditions are the same, consider the arrangement of the major field.
⑥ Consider the degree of contribution to domestic academic and practical research.
⑦ Consider the level of participation and contribution to the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration.
3. The selection committee selects members to be recommended as candidates for the next year from among candidates other than those selected as winners.

Article 7 (Award)
1. The Rising Business Scholar Award is awarded annually at the Winter Regular General Meeting of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration.
2. The number of winners is a few each year, but if no one is eligible, the winner may not be selected.
3. Awards and prizes will be awarded to the winners.

Article 8 (Details of Operation)
The Committee shall determine other matters necessary for the selection of the Rising Business Scholar Award and the smooth operation of the overall awards.
